Latest and GREATEST update!!!!
Alot is happening in adoption world...There has been word from the agency that the newly opened orphanage has accepted 3 babies in. One girl and 2 boys, so it is rolling finally!!! Now as for where it goes from here. Our wonderful friends in L.A., Jeff & Michelle, shouldreceive the referral of the girl and hopefully the couple ahead of us will accept one of the boys which would put us next in line for a girl. That's awesome news. Thebummer is that once these children come to the orphanage they must bethere 30 days before we can receive their referral. This is so that the Vietnamese get to have first choice of adoption, which as we've been told usually never happens. They also need to get their medical exams and paperwork sorted out. So once the current 3 children are referred out they anticipate that they will be able to travel to get them in June or July. Soooo.. hopefully our baby girl will soon be chosen by God to be presented to the orphanage and wewill get to travel for her in July or August. We hope to have a picture of her by March. Sounds far off but it's really not.
Yesterday we were able to pick up our police clearance paperwork after much effort from Merle Phillips office (Cindy) and the Sunbury Police Dept. (Steve). We thank both of these people for their efforts and kindness in this dilemna. You certainly were wonderful. Then last evening we had all of our notarization done. Today my wonderful SIL Cheryl took me in the snow to Harrisburg to get our dossier certified, which was a piece of cake. It took all of 10 minutes and the lady there was so kind too. Thanks Cheryl for your generosity!!! Now I have just printed off the labels to Fed Ex Overnight our dossier to the Consulate Generals office in San Francisco. Once they authenticate it,we can send it back to our agency, our CM, and it will be forwrded to Vietnam for translation. This is a fast moving part of the adoption.
So as you can see I have been rather busy. So busy that I didn't even get to the store to get my loving husband Norm a card for his birthday today. Well he'll understand. I am taking him and the girls out for supper tonight and we are going to Fed Ex our envelope and then come home to have cake. I did manage to stop by a bakery today to pick one of those up, thanks again to my SIL.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY NORM!!!!!
We'll let you know as things progress!!!!
