My heart goes out to you. I sincerely hope this gets straightened out quickly and you get to meet Derek soon.
There is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better right now, but I do hope that you get good news from your agency this week!

had a difficult situation last fall and I know the embassy helped her. She might have some insight or know who to talk to there to help you bring Derek home. She is very nice and I am sure would be a good resource.
